Lakin Kohl serves as Director of Talent Development for Highland Capital Brokerage. Kohl started in the financial services industry in 2012 and specializes in talent and professional development, adult learning, and training.

Prior to joining Highland, Kohl worked as a Senior Sales Trainer and Program Manager at Pacific Life from 2015-2022. In this role , she was responsible for the design and execution of training programs for the Life Insurance division, including the international award-winning Pacific Life Sales Academy . Her multifaceted approach involved creating interactive training content in a blended learning environment , coaching and employee development, and project management to support various training initiatives. Kohl continually evaluated the effectiveness of these programs, aiming to boost employee productivity, sales skills, technological proficiency, product knowledge, and ROI.

Earlier in her career, she was a Senior Training Specialist for First Data, a technology and payment processing company. There she developed an advanced training program for new hires and successfully trained more than 100 sales employees annually in product knowledge, technology, and sales techniques.

Kohl holds a Series 6 license and is a Certified Facilitator for the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) Challenge Yourself workshop and Wilson Learning’s Leading for Performance: Coaching for Performance™. Kohl lives outside of Omaha, Neb. She is an adventure seeker with a love for travel, the outdoors, and animals. She loves spending time with family and friends, Husker football, gardening, cooking, and hiking with her dog Millie June.
