Melinda McPherson serves as Relationship Case Manager for Highland Capital Brokerage. Melinda started in the financial services industry in 1995. She specializes in case management for life insurance and long-term care. This work includes partnering with senior vice presidents and financial advisors to ensure all requirements and paperwork are properly submitted in a timely manner, and all parties are up to date on specific case activities. Melinda has also built good relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives to negotiate the best offers for clients. Melinda’s organizational and communication skills, as well as her eye for detail, play an important part in her role as a case manager.
Prior to joining Highland, she worked as a commission relationship manager with Wachovia Insurance Agency, Inc., (which is now known as Wells Fargo Insurance Group). Before that, she was an advanced case manager in Life New Business with Wachovia for four years. While most of her experience has been in the brokerage world, she also worked for Phoenix Home Life in its Career Sales Office as a case manager.
Melinda has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. She holds the following designations and licenses – the LOMA Customer Service Certification, LOMA Part I FLMI Certification, six other completed LOMA courses while working toward the FLMI designation, and an NAILBA Certified Case Manager designation.
She is originally from North Carolina and lived there most of her life until moving to Fernandina Beach, Fla., where she is minutes away from the beach. Melinda enjoys this relaxed, beach lifestyle with her family and friends – and her hobbies include tennis, walking on the beach at sunset, and photography.
